The 5 most effective ways to lose weight

The 5 most effective ways to lose weight

Here is the list of the 5 most effective ways to lose weight in a descending order:

5. The low carb diet

A popular way to lose weight, the low-carbohydrate diet focuses on controlling your insulin levels by limiting your intake of carbohydrates.

This method is endorsed by Dr. Atkins, who claims that when you cut out carbs, your body goes into a state known as ketosis which causes it to burn its own fat.

This is a great method if you want to eat bacon and eggs for every meal, but it can be hard to maintain.

4. The cabbage soup diet

This famous diet was created by fraudster Kevin Trudeau. In essence what he did was take some regular food, add lots of spices, serve it up in huge portions and claim it’s a miracle cure for weight loss.

The diet claims to help users lose up to 10lbs in 7 days, but this is largely based on the low calorie intake since you’re eating cabbage with everything.

3. The honey diet

A fad from the 70s, this diet also has modern adherents and it involves one simple rule, eat honey on everything.

The honey diet is hard to stick to since you’re not allowed to mix the honey with anything else, but it promises dramatic results due to the calorie restriction.

2. The baby food diet

This one’s pretty self explanatory and involves replacing 3 of your daily meals with jars of baby food (beef stew in our case).

The idea is that the food is bland so you don’t get as hungry and it’s full of calories which replace the need for snacks.

If the price tag gives you pause, be aware that these diets are mostly a marketing ploy to sell jars of baby food!

1. The military diet

This diet involves a calorie restriction of roughly 1000 calories, which is pretty low.

As such it’s likely to make you feel hungry and tired. You’re also advised to work out for 30 minutes each day.

With these restrictions in place the weight will melt off quickly when combined with exercise but it’s not good for long term weight loss.
